If you have not already heard or you are visiting the BVI for the first time, VISAR is a voluntary organisation constructed for the purpose of saving life at sea.
Perceived by the BVI community as the protectors of any individual undertaking activity in our waters, they are a fundamental cog in the Territory’s infrastructure.
In late September, the VISAR Tortola Base held their annual general meeting – one of the central purposes of the gathering was to elect new members for their team.
Alongside VISAR President Gerard Kraakman’s announcements, including the team’s many fundraising successes over 2014, the new board members voted in were Dave Allen, Nigel Keegan, and Nick Cunha.
Hailing from diverse backgrounds, Dave Allen is functioning as the Tortola Action Representative, Nigel Keegan is heading Fundraising, and Nick Cunha is their Public Relations Representative.
VISAR continues to power forward with its eternal efforts and is always seeking further support to improve their service to the community.
The VISAR team is now comprised of the following members:
President – Gerard Kraakman Vice President – Mike Rowe Treasurer – Helen Janes Secretary – Hamish Masson Fundraising – Nigel Keegan Tortola Crew Representative – Paul Hubbard Tortola Action Representative – David Allen Virgin Gorda Crew Representative – Tommy Yacuk Virgin Gorda Action Representative – Lars Giersing Public Relations Representative – Nick Cunha
