Dear Sailors, Members and Friends:
This week we have our usual weekly activities of Taco Tuesday, Wednesday quiz and Saturday Youth Sailing at Nanny Cay! This week’s Wednesday quiz mistress will be Penny Haycraft, so come along and enjoy!
We are also pleased to advise our forthcoming events schedule as follows:
 
Tortola’s Fortifications: Their Past, Present and Future
Join us on Friday 15th April at 7pm for a fascinating lecture from HLSCC’s Mitch Kent, Phd. Mitch is using his guest lecture at the Royal BVI Yacht Club as a kick-off event for his efforts to preserve and protect Fort Purcell, popularly known as “the Dungeon”. It promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening, so please join us!
 
The Virgin Queen Pursuit Race
This year’s race will take place on Saturday 16th April and is sponsored by Virgin Queen. There are two classes – cruising and racing, and windsurfers are also welcome. Registration and nibbles will be at the Yacht Club on Friday 15th April from 6.30pm to 8pm. Come and join us for some round-island racing! The Notice of Race is available on our website.
 
The BVI Dinghy Championships
This year’s championships will take place over the weekend of 30th April/1st May. These promise to be as fun and competitive as ever, all ages are welcome! The Notice of Race is available on our website. Please contact [email protected] for more information!
 
Race to Bitter End Yacht Club
A new addition to this year’s calendar, to ensure we have at least one visit to Virgin Gorda! There will be a race to North Sound and fun and festivities at BEYC on the Saturday evening! The race takes place 7/8 May, so book the date in your diary now! The Notice of Race is available on our website.
 
The Lowell Wheatley Anegada Pursuit Race & Cruise
Please note that owing to the intensity of regatta schedules we have changed the date of this race to the weekend of May 21st / 22nd. Book the date in your diary now!
