Pockwood Pond Development Meeting

Friday, July 9– The Planning Authority is inviting the public to a meeting to discuss a proposed ‘Garage Sales and Services’ development at Pockwood Pond on Thursday, July 15, at the Valerie O. Thomas Community Centre at Sea Cow’s Bay at 6 pm.

The developers, Truck and Equipment Sales and Services Ltd. will make a presentation at the meeting after which the public will have an opportunity to provide input. Chief Planner Mrs. Marva Titley-Smith is encouraging public participation for this venture.

“The Planning Authority recognises the public’s interest in the development of the Territory. This meeting will provide the forum for residents’ voices to be heard and taken into consideration and it will also give the developers an opportunity to share information about their proposal with the public,” Mrs. Titley-Smith said.

At the meeting, the developers will outline plans for the proposed development as submitted for Parcel 4, Block 2534B of the Mount Sage Registration Section. Mrs. Titley-Smith noted that the public meeting will assist the Planning Authority in making a decision on the application.

The Town and Country Planning Department is requesting that persons who wish to speak longer than three minutes to register at the Town and Country Planning Department located on the first floor on the West Atrium of the Central Administration Building by Tuesday, July 13, at 4:00 pm.

The Town & Country Planning Department (TCPD) operates under the umbrella of the Premier’s Office and is responsible for ensuring the orderly and progressive development of land in the Virgin Islands. The Planning Authority, under whose realm falls the TCPD, is responsible for development regulation through the processing of applications for development permission.
