BVI at Monaco Yacht Show

Wednesday, September 15 – A delegation comprising representatives from the BVI International Finance Centre (IFC), Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR), BVI Tourist Board and Her Majesty’s Customs will attend the Monaco Yacht Show next week to promote the first class yachting and complementary services the Virgin Islands currently offers.

The Government departments will collaborate to market the Territory’s services to approximately 28,000 visitors at Monaco in southern France. Executive Director of the IFC, Ms. Sherri Ortiz, said, “The Virgin Islands offers world class shipping registration, while also providing all the necessary complementary support including a wide range of financial services and excellent tourism facilities, all of which we will be promoting at Monaco.” Ms. Ortiz also explained that the Territory’s financial services offering includes trust and estate planning, funds and investment structures, corporate business, legal advisory, auditing and banking services.

Director of the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry, Captain Baboucar Sallah, said, “As a proud member of the Category I Red Ensign Group of shipping registries, we will be introducing visitors at Monaco to the high standard of services we offer to ship owners from around the world.” The Monaco Yacht Show brings together members of the luxury yachting industry from around the world including: brokers, designers, equipment manufacturers, shipyards and luxury goods firms. The mission of the BVI International Finance Centre is to market the Virgin Islands’ financial services industry and promote the Territory’s reputation as a globally integrated and responsible financial services centre, which is facilitated by events such as the Monaco Yacht Show.
