Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

“The property fits in perfectly with the surrounding environment; enjoying the many views of the ocean. The overall design of the home integrates an extensive veranda, natural elements, and the surrounding lush environment creating seamless transitions of indoor and outdoor living spaces. The placement and shape of the home maximise the ocean views and lush environment. The interior incorporates hints of colours, textures, and materials that echo the outdoors, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside.” – Ben Butler, Partner at BCQS

Best Living Room

OBM International for FENDI CASA SUITE – OIL NUT BAY, VIRGIN GORDA

Photography by Christian Horan

“Harmony and balance are the words that spring to mind for this attractive living room. Functional as a living space as well as luxurious without fuss, the simplicity of the monochromatic scheme emphasises the surrounding view. Different textures of the rug, seating, and both tables complement one another perfectly.” – Fran Morrell, Managing Director at House

Best Sustainable Architecture

Alan Smith, Smith Arneborg Architects for DOVELAND – TORTOLA

Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

“Doveland has an open plan design with an abundance of shaded outdoor areas. It’s located on a large home site, preserving a lot of existing natural vegetation. The villa was cited on a ridge, and with its large doors and windows, maximises the BVI’s abundant wind as its natural air conditioner – passive cooling. Natural materials have been used where possible exemplified by local stone used to clad the building and also build stone planters. Rain water is harvested for domestic consumption. Drought tolerant, native plants have been used in the landscape along with an array of fruit trees creating the ideal sustainable property.” – Elliot Steer, Director of Sales at Oil Nut Bay

Best Use of Colour – Commercial

Sasha Creque for ADAGIO DANCE SCHOOL – TORTOLA

Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

“The choice to use a monotone colour palette with shades of pinks and lavender was executed very well and creates a cool, fresh, and inviting space. Those colours complement the use of the space exceptionally well.” – Shalina Pickering, Managing Director at Paint Factory

Best Use of Colour – Residential

SOUTHWATCH – TORTOLA

Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

“The fun mix of vibrant colours utilised across the buildings are characteristically Caribbean. The use of a unifying roof colour pulls it all together. Honestly, it feels as though the colour palette was lifted directly from the flowers in bloom across the landscape.” – Shalina Pickering, Managing Director at Paint Factory

Judges’ Wild Card

VILLA VENTANA – TRUNK BAY, TORTOLA

Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

The judges were unanimous in adoring the elegance and simplicity of the home; the way the kitchen and living areas flow seamlessly make the villa—which has a reasonably small footprint—appear more expansive. The fixtures and furnishings are modern and simple, creating an effortless look.

Best Bedroom and VP Bank Supreme Winner

ANTIGUA SUITE – SABA ROCK, VIRGIN GORDA

Photography by Rainbow Visions BVI

“Antigua Suite demonstrates a modern tropical beach vibe combined with a luxury feel of a high-end hotel. The great use of natural elements and patterns of wood, stone and glass make it a very liveable space. The design allows for the inside of the room to naturally blend into the outside area of the North Sound.” – Sjoerd Koster, General Manager – Client Business at VP Bank
