Restaurant dining is pure pleasure, especially when the entrée flavours are enhanced by the enjoyment of the hospitality received and the visually soothing surroundings.
Now the winner of Virgin Islands Property & Yacht’s Readers’ Choice Awards Best BVI Restaurant for the second year in a row, Brandywine Estate Restaurant’s philosophy stands that cuisine taste, presentation, and restaurant atmosphere are equally significant.
“We feel honoured to be recognised publicly by the BVI residents with this accolade again – and the international readers, as the voting system was so open this year. We are proud to be Readers’ Choice Best BVI Restaurant and look forward to defending our title again next year,” said Claudine Bourdon, manager of Brandywine Estate Restaurant, who served a selection of Chef Regis’ canapés during the event evening.
Regis and Claudine Bourdon—head chef and manager—are a charismatic couple of culinary enthusiasts, as passionate about their food as they are to please their customers. Throughout the BVI, Brandywine has gained an outstanding reputation from the community and visitors for their impeccable service, warm hospitality, and delicious cuisine.
“At Brandywine, you come for the experience,” said Chef Regis. “Everything plays a role – the music, lighting, views, ambience, service. The customer wants to see that you have made an effort for them, which is why I believe food presentation is equally as important as the taste.”
Brandywine offers an eclectic menu of French-inspired cuisine, changing constantly to keep guests intrigued yet maintaining favourites such as the lobster bisque, a creamy soup combing flavours to enhance the taste of the lobster in an modest way.
“Regis works very hard to source and obtain the best ingredients possible and we think that really stands out in our dishes,” said Claudine, as her husband is able to order international requests for parties of all sizes who dine at the restaurant.
The restaurant’s elegant interior presents fine-dining place settings with decor including three fish tanks of aquatic life found by Regis during his snorkelling expeditions, and the colourful artwork of the late Bernard Bourdon, Regis’ father, supplying a warm, family tone to the establishment.
The property’s unique location above Brandywine Bay offering cool trade wind breezes has astonishing 160° vistas, overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Channel, and islands Ginger, Cooper, Salt, Peter, and Norman – the perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail.
New this season to the restaurant’s alfresco dining experience is a pétanque court above the garden.
“We are very pleased with this new addition,” said Claudine. “Pretty much a first for the BVI and a beautiful spot for a drink and a game of boules before or after your meal. We’ve had a couple of tournaments already and are excited to be hosting more in the future.”
This holiday season, Brandywine is excited to bring Christmas to the Caribbean by offering a special prix-fixe menu while adorning the restaurant with additional fairy lights, decorations, and Christmas crackers at each table.
“For the month of December, our delicious Christmas menu will feature Brandywine favourites along with more seasonal cuisine, with something appetising for everyone,” said the manager.
This Christmas will be extra special for Brandywine hosts, as the proud parents-to-be are elated to welcome a new member to the Bourdon household, adding to the warm, family atmosphere of the restaurant. Join the magic with Brandywine this season and continue your loyalty to the BVI’s Best Restaurant.
