On September 6, 2017, the British Virgin Islands suffered the full force of a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane. Hurricane Irma hit the Virgin Islands head on, destroying everything in its path, leaving total devastation.
Days later, Hurricane Maria struck the region, adding further to the extensive damage already sustained. September’s events tested the limits of safety and security on the islands affecting residents, visitors, and business-owners alike.
